From Kyalami to the World

Messe Frankfurt expands its roster of shows with a Festival of Motoring in Australia and industry shows in Jakarta and Azerbaijan.

Messe Frankfurt exports Kyalami FOM to Australia

Messe Frankfurt today announced that it will replicate the popular Festival of Motoring Show, which they host annually at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in Midrand, in Sydney, Australia from next year.

Festival of Motoring has been a staple for auto fans since 2016, thanks in no small part to the fact that it combines high-end car exhibitions with auto lifestyle displays and opportunities to be driven on the famous Kyalami

The Australian show has been penned from 20 – 22 November at Sydney Motorsports Park, where Messe Frankfurt and their partner Michel Malik will replicate the show, and add their own unique touch to the experience.

Michel Malik is the global publisher of BodyShop News and the producer and presenter of World on Wheels, one of the longest-running radio programmes of its kind in the world. Dealerfloor is a sister-publication to BodyShop News Africa, which is published under license with BodyShop News Global.

Says Michel: “Bringing the Festival of Motoring to Sydney has been a goal of mine and it was long overdue. Holding it at Sydney Motorsport Park was a no-brainer thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities and world-class racing circuits.”

Messe Frankfurt has also announced that it will host an Automechanika aftermarket show in Jakarta from 24 – 27 September 2026 to better serve the ASEAN region (including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand). The organisation already has shows in Kuala Lumpur and Mo Chi Minh City in the region.

Lastly, Automechanika will officially open its doors in Baku in Azerbaijan from 3 to 5 March 2027. The country forms part of the so-called New Silk Road, a region that holds great promise of growth for the automotive sector thanks to its relatively low levels of motorisation and its geographic proximity to large markets such as China.
