It is time again for the annual Outdoor & Adventure Expo held at the picturesque Elgin Grabouw Sports Club grounds from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 November.
The expo is not just another caravan or car show, nor a flea market or music festival, but an exciting outdoor and adventure expo for outdoor and nature lovers.
High on the list is everything you need for camping, an outdoor lifestyle and even on- and off-road SUV adventures with or without trailers and caravans, and this year also motorhomes.
A host of the latest caravans, 4x4s and camping gear will be on show, but the event covers much more for outdoor fanatics. The expo outdoor activities include hiking, cycling, e-bikes, adventure bikes, non-motorised water sports, including diving and scuba and outdoor photography.
This family-friendly outdoor gathering offers free admission for children under the age of seven with free access to the children’s entertainment area (face painting, games and many other activities) as well as a free soft drink and snack pack.
Even dogs on a leashes are welcome to enjoy the day and meet dogs of the K9 Search and Rescue unit which will demonstrate how they sniff out humans in disaster areas like the building collapse in George.
The expo boasts an adrenalin-rush electrical go-cart track sponsored by Greenworks – for free. Greenworks will have a comprehensive display of all their 4x4 electrical equipment and mobility products at the purpose-designed track.
The expo opens Friday at 12:00 until 18:00, Saturday from 08:00 until 18:00 and Sunday from 08:00 until 15:00.
Although this open-air show on the outskirts of Grabouw is mainly aimed at day visitors, 20 camping stands are available. No electricity is available at the camp sites, but proper hot shower and toilet facilities will be provided.
