Chery South Africa celebrated three successful years since its return to the local market with Chery Day, a vibrant, family-friendly event held recently that brought customers together for fun and festivity.
Guests enjoyed live music and a relaxed, picnic-style atmosphere, creating a setting for families to unwind while participating in the celebrations. The event also showcased Chery’s full SUV line-up, giving attendees a closer look at the Tiggo 4, Tiggo Cross, Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8 models.
“Celebrating three years in South Africa is a significant milestone for Chery, and we are proud of the strides we've made in expanding our dealer network across the country,” commented Verene Petersen, National Marketing Manager for Chery South Africa. “This growth reflects our unwavering commitment to the South African market and our valued customers.”
Since re-entering the South African market in 2021, Chery has grown its dealer network by 92%. Over the past three years, the brand expanded from 32 dealerships to 87, underscoring its rapid growth in South Africa. November 2024 marked a milestone for Chery, achieving its highest monthly sales yet, with 2 006 vehicles sold.
One of the highlights of the day was the King of Customer (KOC) awards. The KOC programme is designed to celebrate the brand’s most loyal fans and supporters. This initiative, part of the broader With Chery With Love (WCWL) programme, reflects the automaker’s dedication to forging strong relationships and building a sense of community among customers.
KOCs took centre stage at the event, sharing their experiences with Chery vehicles, highlighting the comfort, reliability and value-for-money the brand has become known for. A special awards ceremony recognised standout KOCs' contributions and support within the growing Chery community.
The WCWL initiative is about more than just cars—it’s a bridge between the brand and the people of South Africa. Alongside programmes like the KOC initiative, WCWL includes efforts such as the Chery Foundation, which aims to uplift communities and improve the lives of South Africans.
