All things automotive await visitors at Festival

The Festival of Motoring is returning to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 30 August to 1 September.

Visitors can get ready for a high-octane showcase featuring the latest and favourites in passenger brands, supercars and high-performance rides, all within a dynamic and controlled environment. Whether you are a seasoned enthusiast or just starting your journey into the world of motoring, there will be something unforgettable, says the organisers.

Most of the car brands in South Africa will take part in the event.

For visitors craving an extra dose of adrenaline, supercar, motorsport and drifting experiences are offered by accredited providers such as BMW Motorsport Club hot laps, the Simola Hill Climb sessions, Supercar hotlaps by RaceDayEvents, the Samlin Lamborghini Experience, and Shelby Mustang SA. Special rates only available at the Festival of Motoring and a few one-of-a-kind experiences in Johannesburg.     Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa, the event organiser, shares his excitement, stating: "This year's event will bring together automotive enthusiasts to experience the ultimate rush of motoring excellence, uniting the automotive community to celebrate the achievements of the year together. With WesBank as our esteemed naming rights partner, expect nothing short of automotive excellence on show.”

    But the excitement does not stop there. Immerse yourself in complimentary experiences on the main circuit, self-handling track and 4x4 course. Take on Subaru's obstacle course on the Kyalami skidpan, featuring models like the Forester and Outback, all available for the festival attendee at no cost. In addition, notable brands Dunlop and Castrol have created special interactive areas for visitors.

    Niels Wichmann, Passenger Cars, Brand Director for Volkswagen Group Africa, enthusiastically extends a special invitation to its valued customers to visit the Volkswagen stands located at the main pits and the 4x4 village. Neils affirms: “Volkswagen will showcase its full range of new models for 2024, including the formidable 4X4 Volkswagen Amarok, offering attendees the exclusive opportunity to test drive these exceptional vehicles on the track.”

    Tickets can be purchased at www.howler.co.za with general access priced at R275 per adult and R75 for children aged 4 to 12 years. A complimentary, convenient shuttle service will be offered by SANI Car Rental from the Mall of Africa. An internal shuttle service will be provided to the 4x4 village by Volkswagen, Isuzu and Haval.
