The year 2022 has been wrapped up, and automotive site Motor1 has crunched the numbers to determine the world’s top selling vehicle models.
Their findings are as follows:
In South Africa, as in its neighbour Down Under, the Toyota Hilux was also the most sought-after vehicle with a total of 29,647 units sold between January and November 2022. In second place is the VW Polo Vivo (19,445) and in third place the Toyota Urban Cruiser (16,047).
The BMW X3 was crowned as the 2025 South African Car of the Year.
Proton says it will soon address questions about its future in South Africa.
