Following the launch of the all-electric EX90 seven-seater, Volvo Car South Africa (VCSA) is reiterating its commitment to the local market with the announcement of four electric vehicles, set to arrive over the coming months.
Under the leadership of newly appointed Managing Director, Grant Locke, VCSA is accelerating its electrification plans locally while reaffirming that South Africa remains a key part of its global vision.
“Our focus is clear: we are committed to offering South African motorists more choice as they make the transition to electric driving,” says Grant. “These new vehicles, paired with our ongoing investment in our local operations and services, underline the fact that we are here to stay and grow.”
Volvo EX30 Cross Country:
The new product roll-out kicks off in the third quarter with the introduction of the Volvo EX30 Cross Country, based on its EX30 electric SUV.
True to the spirit of the iconic Cross Country nameplate — first introduced on the XC70 — the EX30 CC combines core Volvo values with a more adventurous character. With a WLTP-estimated range of 427km, the EX30 CC offers the freedom to venture beyond the city.
Volvo XC60 and XC90:
Spring will see the introduction of the refreshed XC60 and XC90. Unveiled in recent months, both models feature revised exterior styling with redesigned front and rear fascias, a new grille, updated wheels and other subtle refinements.
Inside, they gain Volvo’s latest 11.2-inch free-standing touchscreen, which is larger than before and offers 21% sharper pixel density for improved clarity.
Backed by a faster and more responsive infotainment system, the refreshed cabins also introduce new materials, colours and comfort features. Locally, both models will be offered with a choice of mild-hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid (Recharge) powertrains.
Volvo ES90:
In early 2026, the ES90 will arrive as part of Volvo’s ongoing electrification journey. Blending the elegance of a sedan, the versatility of a fastback and the spaciousness of an SUV, the ES90 introduces a new dimension of all-electric mobility.
Built on the advanced SPA2 architecture — which also underpins the EX90 — and powered by next-generation core computing, the ES90 offers an exceptional WLTP-estimated range of 700km, along with class-leading safety systems.
Inside, the ES90 offers a luxurious and spacious cabin with premium materials, cutting-edge infotainment powered by Google and an immersive Bowers & Wilkins sound system featuring Dolby Atmos.
