Digicars Group has announced the successful completion of a strategic transaction to formally integrate HeyCarter Dealerships into its portfolio.

The announcement follows a deliberate period of operational integration, during which both businesses focused on aligning systems, processes and teams to ensure a seamless transition before making the deal public.

“We are excited to announce the convergence of two powerful and complementary skill sets,” said Dawood Olgar, chief executive officer of Digicars Group.

“Digicars Group is recognised for its world-class ‘phygital’ facilities and industry-leading customer experience, while Carter brings a proprietary technology stack, a disruptive mindset and proven high-volume sales processes. Together, the synergy is undeniable,” he says.

The partnership has been in development for some time and reflects a shared strategic vision for the future of automotive retail in South Africa.

“I have immense respect for what HeyCarter founders Amit and Vikash have built,” Dawood adds. “They are not traditional ‘car guys’. With backgrounds in aeronautical engineering and chartered accounting, they were never constrained by legacy thinking. Instead, they engineered a system that gives them a genuine competitive edge.”

With the integration now complete, Digicars Group operates 14 dealerships across 10 major OEM brands, with a further 10 dealerships scheduled to come online in the near term.

This expansion significantly strengthens the group’s national footprint and positions Digicars as one of South Africa’s fastest-scaling, technology-enabled automotive retail groups, the company claims.

“This is a meeting of minds and a unification of strengths,” Dawood concludes. “Amit and Vikash, I look forward to amplifying our disruption together.”
