The dealership was established by Mikash Beharie and his wife, Caylin, in 2017 and is located at 21 Retief Street in the Pietermaritzburg Central Business District.
The history of APC Car Sales originated with Mikash. He had an interest in and passion for vehicles from an early age, when he was working with his father who is also an established businessman and has vast experience in the motor industry. His dad served as a mentor in transferring his knowledge in the art of buying and selling vehicles to Mikash.
Cameron Christian (Senior Manager: Regional Sales Absa Vehicles and Asset Finance) hands over the award to APC Founder and Director, Mikash Beharie, and his wife Caylin.
Mikash worked in his father’s business, where he climbed the ladder and rose to procurement manager but being independent, he decided to venture out on his own with his father’s blessing in 2017 to open APC Car Sales, his current business.
“Today at APC Car Sales, we are proud of the dedication and hard work of our team, which has led to us winning of one of ABSA’s prestigious awards for our business category. It is our first award from Absa Bank and in our year of origin as a partner.” says Caylin.

“It is great to receive this recognition, and we will use this achievement in our marketing campaigns. We sell a wide range of vehicles, ranging from one hundred thousand rand to a million rand.”
When asked about the effect the recent unrest and looting had on their business and stock, Caylin said: “We were fortunate to have been safe from harm and damage but had to continue doing business online.”
She concluded that customer service is of paramount importance and that APC Car Sales has many well-established relationships that have produced repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals that have helped the dealership become an award-winning business.
