The dealership will be operated by Tom Campher Motors, one of Volvo’s most established and award-winning partners in South Africa. The facility will offer a premium experience, backed by a dedicated vehicle carrier service from George to East London.
Located within the Moffett Retail Park, the facility will officially open its doors on 1 October 2025, offering Volvo owners in the region a comprehensive sales and after-sales experience.
How the interior of the new Volvo dealership is envisaged.
With a history dating back to 1974, the Tom Campher name has been closely associated with Volvo for over three decades. Now led by brothers Vic and Gerhard Campher, the family-run business has grown from strength to strength, earning a reputation for integrity and customer care.
This will be Tom Campher Motors’ first new dealership apart of their head office and main dealership in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
The new Moffett facility will be built in line with Volvo’s latest global dealership standards. Customers in the Eastern Cape can look forward to a warm and contemporary space that embodies Volvo’s signature human-centric approach to design and service, the manufacturer claims.

Beyond offering new and pre-owned vehicle sales, servicing and parts support, the dealership will operate its own dedicated vehicle carrier, streamlining logistics between George and East London to better support the region’s needs.
“Volvo has been part of our family’s story for decades, and we’re incredibly proud to expand our partnership with the brand into the Eastern Cape,” says Vic Campher, Managing Director of Tom Campher Motors. “We’re passionate about taking care of our customers. Our team, led by Rudi Pillay, a very competent and well-known professional in the Gqeberha community, will ensure that every Volvo owner in this region feels supported.”
Grant Locke, Managing Director of Volvo Cars South Africa, says the Gqerberha-based full-service dealership demonstrates Volvo’s ongoing commitment to its customers in the region. “We know that for our customers, having access to dedicated sales and after-sales support is essential for their ownership journey.”
