MG, a brand with a rich automotive heritage, is now part of the SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), one of the largest automotive companies in China, which also encompasses several other well-known brands.
Brett Nel, Franchise Executive at Supergroup Dealerships (main photo), expressed enthusiasm about the addition: “We’re eager to integrate the MG brand into our offerings. We plan to start operations with these four dealerships before the end of the year and could expand further in the future.”
The new MG dealerships will be located in Edenvale, Alberton, Boksburg, Rustenburg and Paarl. In Edenvale, MG will share facilities with the Nissan dealership, while the Alberton location will operate alongside Nash Nissan. The Rustenburg dealership will partner with Lionel Motors Nissan, the Boksburg MG dealership will have its own building on the same premises as Suzuki Boksburg, while the Paarl dealership will share premises with Mercedes-Benz Paarl.
Brett Nel, Franchise Executive at Supergroup, shared that the four dealerships were nearing completion and were being finalised according to the manufacturer’s specifications. “Staff training is well underway, with key team members having completed their training with MG to ensure we provide exceptional service to our customers. Our sales teams are also finalising their training on the new brand.
“Vehicles are on their way, and we are excited to finalise the initial range available to customers. MG offers a significant electric vehicle line-up, which we look forward to introducing as part of our offerings,” he adds.
