Mahindra Bloemfontein is officially the oldest Mahindra dealership in South Africa, having started shortly after Mahindra opened its doors for the first time.
As with the opening of the other Adventure store in Mahindra Nelspruit, guests joined in for an off-road adventure at Doringbos 4x4, the official Mahindra training facility in the Free State.
Called the Mahindra Adventure Corner, the new store offers Mahindra fans and customers much more than just access to the group’s authentic range of SUVs and off-road vehicles.
At the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Mahindra Bloemfontein were Rajesh Gupta (CEO of Mahindra South Africa), Ferdie Smith (owner Mahindra Bloemfontein), Marisca Morrison (owner Mahindra Bloemfontein), Jaco Swart (DP Mahindra Bloemfontein) and FJay Smith (owner Mahindra Bloemfontein).
The Adventure Corner concept is created to be a starting point for any venture into off-road adventure, active living or even just heading out on a road trip. As such, it offers customers a range of gear, vehicle accessories, clothing and advice on finding the best adventure.
Mahindra first unveiled the Adventure Corner concept at the Nampo Harvest Day festival, where it also showcased the full range of Special Edition Mahindra Pik Up models, the new XUV700 and the Scorpio-N.
As part of the launch, Mahindra announced that it has partnered with off-road driver training academies in Gauteng, Mpumalanga, the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape. These facilities have been selected based on the quality of their off-road training and tracks as well as their proximity to large groups of Mahindra customers.
Mahindra Nelspruit’s new multi-story showroom and service centre is officially recognised as the largest Mahindra showroom in the Southern Hemisphere.
Both Mahindra Bloemfontein and Mahindra Nelspruit boast some of the largest sales numbers in the Mahindra network, with well-established contracts and relationships with large fleets, farmers and agricultural business and private buyers in their areas.
“At our Mahindra Adventure Corner launch at Nampo, we reflected on Mahindra’s solid relationship with farmers who have become loyal customers and supporters of the Mahindra Pik Up range, our XUV and Scorpio-N SUVs and our range of tractors and farming equipment.
“Over the past couple of years, we have noticed a similar growth in interest from families and adventure-loving owners who are feeling empowered by our range of affordable SUVs and off-road bakkies to head out on an adventure.
“It is for this community that we created the Mahindra Adventure Corner concept. We applaud Mahindra Bloemfontein and Mahindra Nelspruit on their launches and look forward to the next wave of store openings in the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and elsewhere,” says Rajesh Gupta, CEO of Mahindra South Africa
