The Digi Cars Group opened an Omoda & Jaecoo dealership in Melrose Arch as part of the group’s expansion plans to increase its dealership range.
In the case of Omoda & Jaecoo Melrose, the aim was to provide an experience to fit in with one of Johannesburg’s vibrant precincts.
Melrose Arch in the northern part of Johannesburg is renowned for its modern urban design, offering pedestrian-friendly streets, premium offices, upmarket retail and unique dining experiences. “This mixed-use development provides a secure and accessible environment, making it an ideal location for the new dealership, says Azhar Abed, the group’s Franchise Director.
“At the new dealership we will have six vehicles on display, allowing customers ample space to explore and experience each model in a relaxed setting. Since its opening, the dealership has experienced impressive sales growth, with momentum increasing each month. This positive trend has really reflected the strong demand for these new vehicles in the area,” he says.
The decision to establish the dealership in Melrose Arch was strategic, considering several key factors, including its security, accessibility and vibrant atmosphere, Digi Group says in a statement.
“Melrose Arch is recognised as a safe and upmarket environment, its central location offers easy access to residents and professionals across Johannesburg and there is a distinct charm to it, with its high-end fashion stores, cafés, restaurants and luxury dealerships,” says Azhar.
If treated as a cost, it simply flows through the income statement and once expensed, it generally is forgotten about after the month in which it is expensed. From a tax and accounting perspective it is processed as an expense and when one needs to cut expenses, it is often one of the first expenses to be reduced.
“And for now it may be the first, but not the last time…” Well, this ‘statement of intent’ from Luke Dreyer (Dealer Principal at BMW Midrand) during an interview with Dealerfloor last year, proves to be spot on.
UD Trucks Southern Africa announced the addition of its latest dealership in Midvaal, operated by the ETTC Group. This new facility strengthens UD Trucks’ commitment to providing high-quality sales, service and parts support, strategically positioned to serve fleet operators and transport businesses along South Africa’s key N1 and N3 routes.
