A new one-stop facility for trucks and other commercial vehicles has just opened its doors in the North West province about halfway between Lichtenburg and Mahikeng on the R503.
The new dealership in the Rooigrond district is part of the 4Wheels Group, which owns various dealerships in the province.
“Our truck division was accommodated at our dealerships in Lichtenburg, Mahikeng and Vryburg, but owing to the tremendous expansion of our market, we ran out of space in our workshops, and with the addition of more commercial brands and the substantial growth in our commercial business the last year, we had to act,” says Shaun Fritz, Commercial Manager at the new dealership.
“We are thankful for the exceptional growth in our commercial business over the past year. We have FAW Trucks, Iveco, JAC, and we have just added Ashok Leyland and CES Forklifts to our commercial portfolio. With the increase in sales and the additional brands, our facilities at the current dealerships were just not adequate anymore,” he tells Dealerfloor.

“Our Extra Heavy commercial market has been in the forefront the past year, with more and more customers needing services and repairs done on their trucks and trailers. Our new premises had an existing infrastructure and a huge yard, and this suits us perfectly. We modified the building according to our needs, and we can now accommodate approximately six to eight trucks in our service and maintenance area at any given time. We can also accommodate complete truck and trailer combinations to minimise downtime and maximise the benefit to the customer.”
Shaun says that they have appointed additional staff, both on the sales side, as well as on the after-sales side, with fully qualified diesel and master technicians, optimising productivity in our workshop. “The commercial sector is a current growth point, and we have captured a big share of this market in North West and will continue to capitalise on our current success.

“After winning the awards as 4Wheels Group Dealer of the year, along with 4Wheels Group New Vehicle Sales Dealer of the year, we are ready to build on these achievements and go from strength to strength.
“Our product offering is a major part of our success. The locally assembled FAW Trucks range has grown in popularity across the range, especially in the heavy and extra heavy segments here in our main sales area, but also throughout the country.
“On the Iveco side, we also offer a full range of products, but currently the Iveco Daily mini-buses are immensely popular, particularly with ambulance services. JAC, on the other hand, provides a good range, like the JAC X200, which is being used by a number of smaller and medium businesses in the area,” Shaun tells Dealerfloor.

“We are eagerly awaiting our first Ashok Leyland 1.25-ton pick-ups with an impressive 1.5i TDCR turbo diesel-engine. With very competitive pricing and an excellent warranty, these pick-ups will be the perfect vehicle for start-ups and small businesses.”
Shaun says with this extensive range of commercial vehicles they now cater for a broad spectrum of customers with diverse businesses across the province and the whole country.
“I have no doubt that our new premises will provide the perfect background to grow our business even further and extend and expand our customer service in this part of the world,” Shaun concludes.
