NADA – the National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) – recently held its first Dealer Performance Programme Conference (DPP) in person since 2019. The conference was also broadcast over the Internet.
Themed “Rewired and Inspired”, the 2022 NADA DPP Conference programme was designed to equip dealers with the tools and knowledge they require to understand the ever-changing and dynamic industry environment in which they currently operate. Three authoritative speakers covered the enormous shift dealers and businesses now face in the aftermath of the pandemic.
Alex Boavida, Vice-Chairperson of NADA, opened the proceedings by thanking the sponsors and attendees for making the time to attend this important conference.

Nic Borain, a senior political analyst of Financial Markets spoke about the current socio-political landscape in South Africa and provided insight into potential future scenarios over the next few years.
Ghana Msibi, WesBank Deputy CEO and CEO of WesBank Motor was up next. Ghana provided WesBank’s insight into current trends in the automotive ecosystem as well as projections of economic trends that will directly affect the industry, with specific reference to automotive retailing.
Well-known futurist and strategy consultant, Dr Graeme Condrington, was the final guest speaker at the event. His presentation focused on leadership in the face of disruption in a changing post-COVID world.

One of the latest Chinese automotive brands to establish itself in South Africa, GAC Motor, is benefitting from the expertise of well-known motor groups in the country, like the BB Motor Group.
Stellantis has announced the expansion of its multi-franchise dealer network with the addition of the Fiat and Jeep brands to the existing Westvaal Motor Group dealership in Klerksdorp in North West Province.
