Stellantis has announced the expansion of its dealer network with the introduction of Opel, Peugeot and Citroën at a new McCarthy Kunene in eMalahleni (formerly Witbank), Mpumalanga.
McCarthy Kunene is already home to Fiat and Jeep. The expansion continues to bolster dealer representation across Mpumalanga in support of Stellantis’s ambitious plans as one of the largest importers in the South African motor industry.
Bidvest McCarthy is one of the country’s largest and most-respected motor retailers, with a trading history going back more than 100 years. McCarthy offers leading passenger car, SUV and truck brands under the automotive pillar of Bidvest Group Limited.
Stellantis dealers meet the highest standards, providing customers with an unparalleled sales and aftersales experience. “We’re excited to be expanding our relationship with the Bidvest McCarthy. This partnership not only broadens our reach but also enhances our ability to offer exceptional service to our customers,” says Mike Whitfield, Managing Director of Stellantis South Africa.
“By bringing the Opel, Peugeot and Citroën brands closer to our customers in Mpumalanga, we are making these outstanding brands and their products more accessible.”
The Dealer Principal is Eugene Steyn.
McCarthy Kunene is at the corner of OR Tambo Road and Steenkamp Street, eMalahleni.
Inefficiency in a dealership is often not that obvious and that is why it is difficult to identify and address.
In the face of a shifting premium automotive market, Audi South Africa is also currently re-aligning its retail operations according to the new reality where the premium vehicle sector has contracted to nearly a third of its size compared to a decade ago, with 2024 marking the lowest level yet.
The commercial vehicle industry has seen a complete shift in the market over the past year. Despite challenging market conditions, Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA), along with its dealers and general distributors, successfully navigated the landscape to deliver great results, it says.
