The company claims its expansion is a clear statement of intent to dominate the automotive market in 2026 and beyond.
“Opening Hyundai Sandton City is about more than adding another dealership to our network,” says Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa. “Sandton is the epicentre of business on the continent, and our presence here reflects our intent as a brand that remains bullish about 2026 and beyond.”
The new dealership represents a strategic move by the Korean automaker at a time when competition in the motoring sector is at its most intense. The area is one of the busiest business hubs in the country and acts as the financial engine of South Africa, with more than 10 000 businesses operating in the area.
Stanley adds that Hyundai’s continued investment in prime locations reflects the trust South Africans place in the brand. “Despite economic headwinds, South Africans continue to choose Hyundai in growing numbers. This dealership sends a clear message that we are growing, and customers remain at the centre of everything we do.”
Shalendra Rampearie, Dealer Principal of Hyundai Sandton, says the dealership opening is a deliberate growth play in one of the country’s most commercially aggressive markets. “Sandton is about business ambition, performance and results,” Shalendra states.
“Opening here is a statement that we are here to compete, grow and win customers every day. With the strength of our Hyundai brand, we are ready to compete and win more customers into the Hyundai family,” Shalendra states.
