SCW Group’s multi-franchise set-up in Milnerton in the Western Cape now also boasts a brand-new Mahindra dealership.
The new Mahindra dealership shares a facility with the Nissan and GWM dealerships of the motoring group. The building was renovated to accommodate the newcomer to the multi-franchise set-up, which is well established in Milnerton.
The dealership, which opened its doors for business during October, has 17 vehicles on display in the new showroom and another 39 in stock on the premises. The SCW Group has a number of dealerships from different brands in the Western Cape and also in Gauteng.
Although some back-end functions are shared in Milnerton, the Mahindra side has its own showroom and dedicated sales team with Rory Brown taking charge as the Sales Manager for the Indian brand.

“I am very excited to lead the team, and with the phenomenal brand we have had a lot of interest shown since we opened our doors. There is an uptake with Mahindra owners in the area taking notice and making use of our services,” Rory tells Dealerfloor.
For Rory, who has years’ experience in the used car side of the automotive retail business, the opportunity is one that he embraces. “I am new to the group and the new-car side but I know the industry and the brand. I am confident that we will be a great asset for Mahindra owners in our area and even far beyond Milnerton,” he says.
He tells Dealerfloor that they also have three dedicated used car stands, for each brand, which forms an integral and very important part of the multi-franchise’s business model.
“I believe Mahindra, with its high-profile approach such as the Fusion Festival and the smaller spin-off fests like the very successful one hosted recently here at UCT, is part of the success of the brand among a wide variety of customers.

“We also plan to play a big role in our community targeting a spectrum of potential customers with different activities. If you look at our range of vehicles from the funky new 3Xo to the hardcore working single cab Pik Up bakkie, we have something for everyone,” Rory tells Dealerfloor.
He says the Pik Up bakkie’s local assembling in Durban and its no-nonsense character are some of the reasons why it is the third best selling single cab bakkie in the country. “The brand’s track record for reliability and value for money is also at the forefront of its success across the different ranges we sell.
“Considering the comfort and luxury as in the case of the new 3Xo for instance, not to mention the competitive pricing, and it all contributes to the growth of the brand across the country. The new parts warehouse and the availability create peace of mind for customers,” he says.
Rory concludes by saying the new dealership will certainly attract new customers to the brand and create a space for repeat business from existing Mahindra customers in the area.
