The Isuzu Foundation, a collaboration between Isuzu Motors South Africa and its Dealer network, has raised more than R200 000 for thirteen children’s charities in Nelson Mandela Bay through its partnership with the IRONMAN4theKidz organisation.
Since 2022, the Foundation has contributed over R1.8 million, using a model where funds raised are matched to double the impact.
The initiative is designed to provide more than immediate relief. Through the IRONMAN4theKidz Charity Trust, the money supports safe spaces for children, offering education, meals, shelter and emotional care. These programmes aim to address the challenges faced by children living in unstable conditions, while also creating opportunities for growth and a more secure future.

Alastair Hodgson of Isuzu Motors South Africa explained that the Foundation’s role is to act as a bridge, connecting people and enabling impact. He emphasised the importance of contributing to society in ways that create lasting value.
Gary Stephenson, co-founder of IRONMAN4theKidz Trust, highlighted how the Foundation has allowed the charity to expand its reach and positively influence the lives of children in South Africa.
The Foundation’s work has also been supported by Isuzu-sponsored athletes. Thamsanqa Gompo competed in the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championships, while Akhona Ketwa and Ruan Pretorius took part in the Corporate Triathlete Challenge. Their campaign, Racing Beyond the Finish Line, used sport as a platform to raise awareness and inspire opportunities for young people in need.
