It might not be a dealership located in an affluent part of Johannesburg, but when it comes to authenticity in the sense of being genuine and sincere, McDuling Motors Volkswagen in Booysens, central Johannesburg, is a hard act to follow.
The Volkswagen dealership, part of CFAO Mobility, recently scooped the trophy as the brand’s top dealership in South Africa from under the noses of many other favourites.
“We put in a great effort and knew we were in the running, but being awarded the top trophy was a pleasant surprise for us,” Allan Stiles, the Dealer Principal tells Dealerfloor.
“When I arrived at the dealership in 2024, I was met by a solid team with good people driving the business. We had to start implementing new systems and giving direction to our team to shift the business to a higher gear.
“By focusing on the fundamentals and truly valuing our team, we have built a strong culture and a positive energy throughout the dealership. It is something tangible that resonates with everyone we interact with, from customers to our OEM and group stakeholders,” he says.
Allan tells Dealerfloor that part of the dealership’s strength when it comes to sales was the introduction of the exclusive Wörthersee Edition. “We are seeing interest from clients nationwide in our Wörthersee editions, many of whom go on to take delivery. This, together with our passion for people and dedication to service excellence, has played a key role in expanding our market share.”
Allan says his career as a beneficiary of Volkswagen’s cadet programme was pivotal in leading him to taking the reins at McDuling as DP. He started at Lindsay Saker Sandton from 2005 to 2007, before doing his internship and working at Strijdom Park Volkswagen, also part of CFAO Mobility.
He gained experience across all the different departments, from parts picker to new and used car manager. In 2024, he was appointed dealer principal at McDuling Motors Volkswagen.
