GWM South Africa hosted its Dealer Conference and Awards, an annual event that not only celebrated the company’s top-performing dealerships but also heralded the arrival of three new vehicles.
GWM Bruma took the top spot as the overall Dealer of the Year for 2024 at the event and also won the category for large dealerships while the Hatfield Motor Group walked away with the Group Winner award.
More than 300 dealers, partners and stakeholders gathered to witness the latest chapter in GWM’s 18-year journey in South Africa.
Top-performing dealerships were recognised for their outstanding contributions in categories such as sales, service, after-sales, vehicle accessories and financing. The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the four winners of the prestigious Dealer of the Year awards in the Small, Medium, Large and Mega categories.
The GWM Dealer Conference also highlighted the brand’s remarkable growth in South Africa. From its humble beginnings as a niche pick-up supplier to its current standing as a top 10 vehicle brand, GWM has consistently pushed the boundaries of innovation.
The recent launch of the HAVAL H7 is testament to this growth and with the addition of the P300, Tank 300 Diesel and H6 GT PHEV, GWM’s portfolio is now more diverse and compelling than ever before.
After 28 years as the Ford dealership in the rural town of Aliwal North, the Blue Oval will no longer be officially represented in this part of the Eastern Cape.

In the face of a shifting premium automotive market, Audi South Africa is also currently re-aligning its retail operations according to the new reality where the premium vehicle sector has contracted to nearly a third of its size compared to a decade ago, with 2024 marking the lowest level yet.
